This position oversees all aspects and administration of the CBRE 401(k) defined contribution plan, including the Administrative Committee meetings and engagement with Committee Members, Fiduciary Advisors and Plan Administrations to ensure plan compliance. Supports the benefits function in the design, implementation and on-going management of general or specific benefits programs and initiatives, including analyzing current patterns of program usage to evaluate their effectiveness from a cost, process efficiency, and utility to the employee perspective. This position will serve as the retirement benefits liaison for all Merger & Acquisition/Transition activity to ensure compliance to programs and potential risks identified. 


Manages and interacts with all retirement plan vendors, including record keeper, trustee, investment advisor, retirement actuaries, ERISA attorneys, ERISA auditors, along with other external vendors.  Provides recommendations to management for plan and provision modifications or expansion, or may identify a new benefit that would support the overall goals and objectives to the total rewards function.

Serves as Secretary for 401(k) Administrative Committee, involving frequent interaction with executives and other colleagues outside the People function. Organizes committee agendas, ensures minutes are accurately reported, and actions appropriately documented.

Oversees retirement compliance and reporting functions, which requires familiarity with ERISA, IRS and Department of Labor (DOL)requirements.

Manages annual audit processes, reporting (Form 5500), and match true-up for retirement plan.

May have extensive interaction with third-party administrators, benefit plan providers, auditors, consultants and actuaries on data collection, compilation for internal standard and ad hoc analyses.

Manages retirement transactions and implements projects associated with either acquisitions or divestitures, including interim solutions.

Oversees all retirement plan service agreements, billing, and invoices.

Maintains all retirement benefit plan documents and amendments and summary plan descriptions.

Ensures HRIS interfaces/data and processes are working properly between external/outsourced vendors. May develop special reports and analysis using HRIS or external vendor data and/or platforms.

Leads key benefit initiatives that impact participants, including developing communications plan to increase employee engagement in the 401(k) plan.

Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers.  May lead project teams and/or plan, and oversee assignments of lower level employees.  Drives accountability with vendor relationships

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university and a minimum of 6 to 8 years of related experience and/or training including at least 5 years of relevant retirement plan experience and oversight of similar size retirement programs

Working knowledge of laws, filings, and regulations relating to retirement and health and welfare benefit plans, such as ERISA, DOL, and IRS requirements.

Some familiarity with the complex benefit planning issues involved in mergers, acquisitions, transitions and divestitures.

Some familiarity with the complexity of global retirement programs and mobility a plus.



Communicates proactively with key stakeholders regarding benefits plan documentation, plan recordkeeping questions/resolutions, and general plan administration.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.


Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.


Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.

Demonstrates in-depth expertise in benefits programs and helps to guide the resolutions of unique and complex problems.


Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.  Extensive knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting employee benefit programs, including federal and state law.


Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause impact to department and business.
