JOB SUMMARY

Manages and provides support to the company's Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) programs. As a D&I subject matter expert, consults and works with CBRE business segment, line of business and corporate functional senior leadership to foster an inclusive and diverse culture and workforce within their respective organizations. Evaluates, designs and implements robust D&I strategies for CBRE business groups that are aligned and integrated with CBRE's global corporate D&I strategy. Works closely with partners across the region and in the broader industry to introduce and embed best practices to achieve collective D&I goals.  Builds upon existing and champions new D&I initiatives to CBRE global employee workforce.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides vision, leadership, coordination and strategic planning for the design and implementation of a diversity and inclusion platform.
  • Serves as an expert and a resource to business leaders and managers to ensure their strategic plan for diversity and inclusion is aligned with CBRE's strategic and operating plans. Utilizes metrics to assess performance and success over time, improves and redesign services.
  • Works with leaders to identify areas to increase diversity of the workforce to meet goals, and partners with leaders to spearhead ways to develop recruitment and retention programs to attract a more diverse workforce and deepen our pipeline. Partners with senior leaders and managers to lead and facilitate change in the delivery of D&I services. Infuses diversity into discussions, such as budget, new initiatives, strategic plans and future priorities.
  • Drives diverse talent identification and retention strategies for employees.
  • Designs and implements initiatives/processes which anticipate and/or respond to key competitive issues. 
  • Assists with the preparation of key reports, including but not limited to employment, equity, diversity and inclusion activities required by state and federal agencies.
  • Establishes and maintains on-going relationships with peers and partners in key organizations and companies to stay informed of best practices, benchmarks, competitor actions, etc.
  • Promotes a positive image and positive external relations for CBRE by representing the company in various community, state and regional activities designed to promote diversity and inclusion.
  • Develops and presents an array of innovative ideas and program concepts for consideration, selection and implementation; manages the direction and implementation of targeted D&I programs.
  • Supports communications related to D&I initiatives.
  • Supports and helps deliver diversity education, training and development programs to support strategic goals and operational objectives. Provides insights on diversity and inclusion training content.
  • Reviews and provides input to corporate and business D&I budgets.
Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES              

May be responsible for a mix of direct and matrix reports, including selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising and rewarding performance and retention.  Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.



QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE    

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university. Master’s Degree preferred.

Minimum 8 years professional experience in Business, Education, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Mgmt., Human Resource Development, Organizational Development, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, or related field."

Experience as a senior level diversity leader, with diversity and cultural competencies, as well as track successful track record of managing diversity & inclusion strategies and programs, preferably in a corporate environment.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS           

Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret the complex business documents, and effectively respond to sensitive issues.  Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using a distinctive style.  Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups.  Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management and client groups to take desired action.


FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE             

Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles.  Ability to forecast and prepare budgets.  Conducts complex financial/business analysis including the preparation of complex reports. 


REASONING ABILITY      

Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills.


OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES       

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Demonstrated program management experience working with cross-functional teams, SMEs, and stakeholders. Ability to cross numerous organizational boundaries with the fluid ability to adapt language and styles to different audiences. Ability to research, identify, and implement best practices of diversity & inclusion, as well as demonstrate an excellent command of contemporary diversity and inclusion concepts and issues.


SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY         

Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve complex results.  Responsible for setting project, department and/or division deadlines.  Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or overall company.
