The Global Data Manager will set and implement strategy for CBRE Global Investors’ Data Governance framework. They will be responsible for reaching a baseline level of quality data in our Enterprise Data Management system and incorporating new datasets over time to drive advanced analytics and actionable insights for our investment and leadership teams.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee the technology employed for our business data dictionary as well as the tool to manage data quality rules

• In a project management capacity, lead project teams to ensure data quality in source systems feeding the recently developed Enterprise Data Management platform

• Partner with data stewards and subject matter experts to maintain and further develop the data dictionary of business terms and calculations

• Act in an escalation capacity for data quality notifications and partner with business team members requiring support to maintain data quality

• Partner with the Digital & Technology team to create and maintain data quality rules and provide regular reporting on the adherence to these rules by the business

• Drive adoption and measure consistency of golden sources and data management standards

• Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance to ensure clear accountability across teams

• Collaborate with the Analytics teams globally to realize a competitive edge leveraging the power of our proprietary data

• Research and acquire new data sources for Analytics and to ultimately drive improved investment decision making 

General Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

• Financial services, investment management, or real estate related experience desired

• Minimum 5 years related experience with master data management, data governance focused roles

• Ability to analyze complex data, business processes, and information flow needs

• Experience documenting data processes, creating data policies, communicating data policies, and measuring how policies are being followed

• Knowledge of tools to query and manipulate data including Power query, Collibra, advanced Excel and SQL data bases

• Organized, structured, methodical

• Excellent project management skills with the capabilities to conceive of project roadmaps and consistently execute

• Embraces agile project management and understands requirements gathering, testing, and validation techniques

• Ability to convey complex concepts to business stakeholders in terms relevant to the business

• Ability to present to internal stakeholders with confidence and passion for the data governance discipline

• Ability to work effectively across a matrixed organization and lead change while inspiring flexibility among various teams
