QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and
EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. Requires a minimum of ten years related experience to include at least three years in a lead or supervisory capacity. Must also have public accounting or relevant experience and work with global companies with international operations. CPA a plus. Experience in SEC financial reporting on Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K and 11-K.
CERTIFICATES
and/or LICENSES
CPA or MBA (graduate degree) preferred, but not required (depending on experience).
COMMUNICATION
SKILLS
Ability to apply excellent written and verbal communication skills to accurately explain/report activity. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to efficiently provide timely and reliable information to coworkers in a courteous manner. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues and work collaboratively with key employees, top management, and other departments on various projects.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports. Broad, in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), concepts. SEC reporting experience required.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to comprehend,
analyze, and interpret complex financial information and transactions and
accounting principles. Ability to independently research complex accounting
transactions/issues. Ability to problem-solve, both independently and working
as a team. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. Draws upon the
analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the
company.
OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES
Strong computer skills, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.). Broad experience with other software and financial systems such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, Hyperion, Equity Methods, Active Disclosure/Workiva and Audit Board experience is desired and are pluses. Knowledge of real estate service industry and terminology is helpful.
External and internal
audit/SOX compliance.
Overall understanding and experience in application of GAAP and SEC financial reporting requirements including financial statements and financial statement footnotes.
Self-motivated, strong work ethic and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical and problem resolution skills, including the ability to research and simplify complex situations.
Ability to interface with all levels of the organization to collect information and drive resolution.
Must be detail-oriented, have a proactive approach and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Must be able to effectively manage and prioritize critical deadlines.
Ability to work in a team environment.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
